Not All Silk is Created Equal

In addition to a variety of silk types, there are different silk quality grades. Silk quality is graded A, B, or C. When looking for silk products, look for Grade A Mulberry Silk. This silk is the purest, highest quality silk available from cocoons that are pearly white in color.

Blissweaver uses 100% Premium Grade A Long Strand Double Cocoon Mulberry Silk in our bedding collection.

WHY WE USE LYOCELL

WHY WE USE LYOCELL

Lyocell vs. Viscose

Lyocell vs. Viscose

Blissweaver only uses premium organic Lyocell textiles in our bedding collection. So why did we choose Lyocell? And what's the difference between Lyocell and Viscose?

Both fibers are created by dissolving plant matter derived from wood or bamboo pulp. The cellulose plant fibers are then transformed into finished fabric using solvents. What makes these two fabrics different are the types of solvents and processes used in production.

Viscose, also known as rayon, undergoes its transformation through a chemical-heavy process. Besides using multiple corrosive solvents to create something you are going to sleep with every night, the water used in production can't be recycled and the waste is highly toxic.

Lyocell uses clean, modern methods that require less energy than traditional viscose manufacturing, and uses only one organic solvent. It is produced with a closed-loop eco-friendly process where 99% of the solvent and water are recycled. This creates a truly organic fabric you can feel good about wrapping yourself in for 6-8 hours a day.
